Hong Kong Trip 2014

was born in the year of horse and mum had planned to take me back to Hong Kong so that I would be able to know how chinese celebrated Chinese New year. It was all plan BUT very unfortunately on the day we transferred plane in Singapore, I was not feeling well and for half of the time in HK I was in bed sleeping with severe stomach and tummy ache.

Mum's version: Everything starts with a good course for Marina to HK for Chinese New Year in the year of horse has always been a promise and a dream holiday for us together as in the previous, it is hard with por por as we have to spend time with her . Eventually Jorming and Yuetyi came to spend chinese new year with por por then we went to HK for chinese new year.

But things can turn to be so unexpectedly wrong and the holiday left with a scar which I would never forget or forgive. Marina started off getting motion sickness, then she felt sick and tired when we were on the plane and she almost fainted when we ere getting through the immigration in HK. I was made believe that she was tired and not adapted well to due to the last minute rush schedule, food ,water and weather etc in HK. I took pity of her and let her sleep as much as she could to catch up with her wind and then in between I managed to catch up with friends and did some shopping I would like to do. I tried my very best to fit her in to play with my friends kids such as those from squash team, Kwong's family, Mo's family but because the kids don't see each other often enough so they don't really play as well as I has thought.

I wanted to take her out shopping or eating more but with her lost of appetite , we missed a lot of opportunities, I felt so sad for her to ask if there were any shopping centres that I had been but she had not been to.

We managed to get her to the flower market at Causeway Bay, with the big crowd and she got tired so easily and she needed to sit down every now and then.

We joined Fu's big family for the end of year dinner, it was an eye opening for Marina as all dishes needed to be separated into four portions so everyone on the table was able to get to the dishes.

Everywhere have got lots of chinese new year decorations including most of the people's home

It is also a tradition to pay respect to the elderly and we were able to catch up with yee por por (mum's sister) and also Frances the most adorable and well loved niece.

We followed auntie Mo Mo to visit her sister's family

Then we went to visit Rex's family ( they are related to auntie Mo Mo family, as auntie Mo Mo por por is the sister of auntie Lisa's father.

We were invited to join dinner with Rex's family and her uncles and aunties and also we were able to see the fire work and the beautiful night scenery of HK

We went to visit Stephanie's family as she was flying back to Perth on the day we got there.

We bought some decoration for Jorming's house so that when they return from Perth, the house has got some decoration for chinese new year.

On the last day after the dinner with Mo and Ngan, Fu etc, we went shopping for the gold chain crucifix. She was very unwilling to go back home as she loved to do some more shopping, with the support of Fu and Mo we shopped for an hour or so and then they left to pick Becky up and came back to fetch us .

I felt that holiday between us in HK would start to show differences in interestes   especially that I am meeting with friends for catching up with our good old days but she is not following and can be boring like hell.

Three weeks so called holiday gone, the return journey was much better as she could sleep ok on both of the flights. I was annoyed that there were plenty of seats but I could not managed to get any flight earlier to fly back to join jorming and yuetyim and mum for a family gathering.

I book to get marina to see doctor right on the first afternoon when we got back to ensure she was alright. The same consultation like what I got from Fu.  I thought with a day's rest she would be back to normal self. My wishful thinking did not work. This has given
