My Year 10 Progress

Mum met a friend who operates a stall selling miscellaneous goods such as replica guns, animals hats, swords etc at the Royal Show. She asked if they could give me some time to work with no paid as that would gain me some working experience. The owner however replied and gave me five days work on both of the weekends. It was a very very hard job, harder than I had ever thought. My feet was totally numb after standing for a straight 10 hours. I learned how to operate a EFPOS machine. I also had to add and subtract to get the price and change done correctly. Mum felt pity for me so she sent me to the workplace for a few mornings so that I was able to gain an extra 30 minutes sleep. She cooked me nice breakfast to boost me for the day and then came to pick me up from the workplace.  Mum always felt that as I only like animals and I would not like a job dealing with people. I did not mind as I could really earn some money and use my own money to buy things. After working for $10 per hour, I find it not easy to spend money on things that is not necessary or it is overpriced. I also felt sad for some very young kids who are obsessive with characters found in electronic games. I am certain that this work experience has increased my level of maturity.

Because of this job, I am able to bring mum to the show free of charge and used my paid to buy her lunch. We both spent a very lovely day at the show together.
We saw dogs, cats.

They both look like a piece of marble

First time ever seeing how guinea pigs were being judged in a competition. They don't look real !
Guess what this is?

Another thing that amazed me was the patience mum shown to wait for the hatching of chickens, She was brought up in a poultry farm but she said she could not remember seeing the hatching.

Of course one of the attraction at the show was to have curly fries, churro and dagwood dog.

My First Piano Recital

I asked mum to find an excuse to get me out of the piano recital on 16th September. I  had enough pressure at school and I did not need another one. I learned to play piano purely for for fun and not for perform. I did not want to play with some kids who apparently were very good already.  But to please my mum to pay the expensive fees for me to take the lesson and to fulfill for the sake of fulling her interest in seeing me playing. Also, when one has to start from somewhere when learning a new thing and this is only my second year of learning so I should not have put pressure on myself. Hence, I gave in as after all it was only 30 seconds. I was more nervous at the rehearsal than on the day of recital.

My Continue Success in Kickboxing

My physical fitness has improved  as I successfully completed the grading from yellow, orange to purple.
2016 Completed Yellow Grade

2017 Completed Orange Grade

In 2018 September I completed the purple grade. Sorry mum I made you going through this as well.

My first 15 hours of Community Service
I completed a total of 15 hours of community services so far. I assisted to set up  the school dance night. I helped to cut up vegetables in the soup kitchen for four times that I had to get up at 6:15 am in order to be picked up at school at 6:50 am. I normally get up at 7.20 am on school days. I also  handed out water to participants at the City to Surf on a Sunday morning again, arrived at the venue at 7:30 am. Both activities got me this late riser to get up so so early.

Another activity was that  I helped to sort out toys at the toy warehouse in Osborne Park. These service hours gave me  experience to play as a team player.  The involvement in these charity work further allowed me to realise lots of poor people who relied on charity to give them the basic physiology needs.  I also learned many kids who never got the luxury of getting toys from their parents etc. I am so blessed as I never have to worry food, clothing, shelter and toys, something I take for granted.

My Year 10 Progress
I completed three school terms successfully. I had put lots of hours into subjects especially I am also doing a ATAR Economics . According to the school, If I am not good in results I would not be offered to do an ATAR in year 10. I am gradually building up my time management skills  and self discipline in working through my school work. Mum joked that she needs to get me a suitcase soon to hold the amount of palm cards I have built up.
